Hey. Its Lori.
I’m not just some clipboard consultant who’s never worked a day in the field. I’ve run forklifts, climbed scaffolding, packed orders, fixed equipment, answered phones, and led teams. I’ve worked in mills, warehouses, offices, and a bunch of the in-between. I know what it’s like to bust your ass all day and still come home to a pile of paperwork, emails, and problems that won’t wait.
So when I say I get it—
I mean it.
I grew up working-class, lived through the grit, and earned every damn bit of my business degree while juggling work, life, and raising kids. I’ve been the one holding it all together while everything felt like it was falling apart.
And I’ve learned this:
Hard work alone doesn’t build a sustainable business.
You need systems. Support. A second brain.
That’s where I come in.
-Why I Started Dark Horse Business Solutions LLC-
Because of you. Working-class business owners.
Too many of you are burning out trying to run a business without a plan or a backup crew.
I’ve seen too many skilled, talented people drowning in admin, late invoices, janky systems, and overloaded schedules—just like I used to.
So I took everything I’ve learned from a lifetime of hard jobs, leadership roles, and business training, and I built something different.
Dark Horse Business Solutions LLC is for the underdogs. The grinders. The builders. The ones who don’t want to be chained to their inbox when they could be doing what they love—or living their damn life.
-What I Believe-
Your business should work for you - Not the other way around.
You don’t need more hustle. You need better systems and support.
Being good at what you do is enough - you don’t have to be good at everything.
You deserve time off, peace of mind, and a life outside work.
-What Matters to Me-
Freedom. In life, in work, in how you spend your time.
Adventure. I paddleboard, hike, camp, zipline, ride, and road-trip every chance I get. New places, new challenges? Bring ’em on.
Community. I’ve led booster clubs, supported military families, and mentored young readers. We all need people in our corner.
Service. I’m here to help—without ego, without pretense. Just real support, built on real life.
-How I Work-
I’ve been a fixer my whole life. I don’t just see problems—I see how to solve them. I love breaking things down, figuring out what’s not working, and rebuilding it so it flows better. Whether it’s a project, a process, or a whole damn business, I help make it make sense.
I’m also driven as hell. Got my first motorcycle when I was four, and I’ve been riding ever since. That focus, control, and instinct to lean into the curves? That’s how I show up in business, too. I stay grounded, handle what’s coming, and twist the throttle when it’s go time.
Off the Clock
When I’m not helping clients get their shit together, you’ll find me:
Riding motorcycles (the wind is my therapy)
Camping, road-tripping, or jetting off to someplace sunny
Making hard cider from scratch
Wrenching, hammering, trimming or on the tractor
Raising a glass at a cider festival
Hanging around the fire with friends and fam
This Ain’t My First Rodeo
You don’t need a fancy title to know what the hell you’re doing—but it doesn’t hurt to have the receipts.
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration – earned while working full-time and raising a family
CINA-Certified Apprentice Cider Maker – because I don’t just help business owners, I am one
Decades of hands-on experience in operations, compliance, logistics, leadership, safety, customer service, and the dirty work that keeps businesses alive
Former Family Readiness Group Leader supporting military families during deployment
Team Leader, Forklift Driver, Safety Coordinator, Manager – if it needed doing, I’ve done it
Builder of systems and teams that run lean, tight, and on-time
Coach and consultant to blue-collar and craft-based businesses across trades, tourism, hospitality, and beyond
I work with the folks who don’t have time to scroll LinkedIn.
The ones that are too busy keeping the lights on and the wheels turning.
That’s who I’m here for.
